"No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another."
There are many public and private programs available for senior adults. Each program has its own set of rules and eligibility requirements. For many older adults and families, understanding what is available and how to obtain the resources is the first step in keeping their loved one at home and independent.
Positive Maturity’s Geriatric Social Worker serves as a “navigator” and “expediter,” enabling older adults and their families to understand and choose among the bewildering array of available health and social services throughout Jefferson and surrounding counties. Our Geriatric Social worker provides information and referral to the community at large and light case management services to those who qualify.
Geriatric Social Services also partners with other local agencies such as American Red Cross for Project Share (utility assistance), Jefferson County Office of Senior Citizen Services (Senior Rx, Farmers Market, etc).
If you are someone you know are in need of resources to assist an adult 50 and older, please contact Sandra Smith, Information and Referral Director.
